New England Braces for Another Winter of High Energy Costs

In recent years, those watching electricity markets have kept a close eye on the cost of natural gas.  As the generation mix across the country added more gas fired power plants, the correlation between natural gas prices and electricity rates became closely linked.  The most commonly accepted barometer for natural gas pricing is the NYMEX trading of futures at the Henry Hub (a Louisiana junction of multiple interstate pipelines).
